As I sit in my car listening to a Very Maverick Christmas album I am reminded of what Christmas really is about. Now I am all about listening to Jingle Bells and Rudolph, the Red Nose Reindeer to bring the joy, the fun, and the childlikeness to Christmas.
But as a Christian, I tend to forget the true meeting of the season.
No matter how much I go to church, no matter how much I listen to Scripture I do tend to forget. The one beautiful thing about this album I’m discovering is that they are combining traditional Christmas carols with worship songs. It is reminding me of what it’s about. Christmas is about worshipping the One who came. Christmas is about worshipping the one who chose to leave heaven to come down to earth as a human and going to save us all.
